DIVERSITY IMMIGRANTS
Diversity immigrants are permitted 55,000 annual admissions, with preference given to persons from countries or regions that have not had a large number of persons immigrating to the U.S. in a five-year period.
To be eligible for admission as a diversity immigrant, the person must have at least the equivalent of a high school education, or at least two years work experience within five years prior to applying in a field requiring at least two years of training or experience.
